What 좭 means
No word meaning by itself. Its jamo (letters) are initial ㅈ, vowel ㅙ, and final consonant cluster ㄵ, called batchim. A Korean word containing the block supplies its meaning.
The 1446 Hunminjeongeum, a guide to Hangul, explained the script's design for writing Korean: consonant and vowel letters form syllable blocks. Hangul later appeared alongside Hanja, Chinese characters used in Korean writing, before becoming the main script for Korean.
In Unicode's decomposed form (NFD), the same syllable appears as 좭, with its jamo written separately.
Neutral Korean spelling; its meaning and tone come from the word around it.

Questions people ask
1Why does 좭 show as a box on some devices?
Because that device's fonts have no glyph for it. The character is still correct and still copies correctly — the box is a missing glyph, not a broken character.
