What 좮 means
Use the Korean 2-set layout: W-H-O-S-G.
On a QWERTY keyboard with Korean 2-set input selected, those keys enter ㅈ, ㅗ, ㅐ, ㄴ, ㅎ. The input method combines ㅗㅐ into ㅙ and ㄴㅎ into ㄶ, then forms the block 좮.
Other Korean layouts use different keys, but the order stays initial ㅈ, vowel ㅙ, final ㄶ. With English input selected, those keys produce Latin letters instead of Hangul.
What does 좮 mean?
It is one Hangul syllable; the block alone does not give a full word meaning.
Hangul groups an initial consonant, a vowel, and sometimes a final consonant into one block. The jamo decomposition of 좮 is ᄌ (initial), ᅫ (vowel), and ᆭ (final cluster); the keyboard-compatible forms are ㅈ, ㅙ, and ㄶ.
King Sejong's court developed Hangul in 1443; the script was proclaimed in 1446 in Hunminjeongeum, an instructional text whose title means “Correct Sounds to Instruct the People.” Korean writing then used Chinese characters and Idu, a method that adapted those characters to Korean words and grammar. Hangul was designed to represent Korean more directly and be easier to learn.
Neutral as a written syllable.
A single block is not enough to infer the full word's meaning.

3Questions people ask
1Why does 좮 appear as a square?
Usually, it is a font-coverage issue. Some fonts omit less-common modern Hangul syllables. A font with broad modern Hangul coverage can display it; the square is a rendering problem, not a different character.
