What 캟 means

The Korean word supplies the meaning.

The sequence ㅋㅐㅀ is initial ㅋ, vowel ㅐ and final ㅀ, a pair called 겹받침 in Korean. “Kaelh” labels its components, not a Korean definition. In words, ㅎ drops before vowels; before ㄱ, ㄷ or ㅈ, it adds a puff of air.

King Sejong's court devised Hangul to make Korean writing easier. Before it, writers used Chinese characters and systems adapted to write Korean, including Idu, Gugyeol and Hyangchal. The letters were completed in 1443; a 1446 guide, Hunminjeongeum, explained them. After a period of everyday use, Hangul entered official documents in 1894 and later became the everyday Korean script.

1

Why does 캟 show as a box on some devices?

Because that device's fonts have no glyph for it. The character is still correct and still copies correctly — the box is a missing glyph, not a broken character.
