Hangul syllable 컲

8947/11172

컲 is one Hangul syllable block, with no standalone word, ritual, or chat use established as of 2026-09-13. Hangul is the Korean writing system, and this block combines the letters ㅋ, ㅓ, and ㄿ. Hangul was devised in 1443 and explained in the 1446 Hunminjeongeum manuscript. Metal type for Hangul is documented by 1455, as the script gradually gained ground alongside Chinese characters.

What 컲 means

It joins three Hangul letters into one syllable block. In Hangul, these building letters are called jamo: ㅋ is the opening consonant, ㅓ the vowel, and ㄿ the final consonant cluster. Together they form one syllable, not three separate words.
