What 퀘 means
Type ㅋ, then ㅜ and ㅔ in Korean input.
On the standard two-set layout, ㅋ combines with the compound vowel ㅞ, itself made from ㅜ ㅔ. On a QWERTY keyboard, the keys are Z, N, P, in that order; the Korean input method assembles them into 퀘. If the letters appear separately, switch from English input to Korean input. Phone layouts vary, but the component order stays the same.
What does 퀘 mean?
Usually, it has no standalone meaning; the full word supplies it.
퀘 is pronounced roughly “kwe” and normally serves as one syllable in a longer Korean word. It also appears in Korean spellings of foreign names and borrowed words. Alone in a message, read it as a syllable or fragment until the surrounding context gives it a meaning.
A North Pyongan dialect entry records 퀘 as an alternative form of 켜 and 코. That is a regional dictionary use, not a general chat convention.
What is 퀘 made of?
It is a Hangul syllable block built from sound letters.
Hangul was created to represent Korean speech and make writing easier. Its creation is associated with 1443; the 1446 Hunminjeongeum explains how a starting consonant, a vowel, and sometimes an ending consonant combine into syllable blocks.
Unicode also has a decomposed form, 퀘, made of the initial-consonant letter and vowel letter. Text normalization can treat it as equivalent to the precomposed block 퀘. Korean keyboard input uses the related compatibility jamo ㅋ ㅞ.
