What 퀙 means
It is one syllable in Korean spelling.
Hangul blocks join an initial consonant, a vowel, and a final consonant. The individual letter forms, called jamo, in 퀙 are ᄏ, ᅰ, and ᆨ.
King Sejong devised Hangul to make Korean easier to write. Its creation is first recorded in 1443; Hunminjeongeum, the book explaining its letters, appeared in 1446. Later, Hangul served everyday, religious, literary, and official writing, sometimes alongside Chinese characters.
