What 퀏 means
This block contributes one syllable; the Korean word around it supplies the meaning. It is one Hangul block, so a lone 퀏 does not tell you which word it belongs to.
Hangul was designed to write Korean speech directly. Earlier systems such as Idu, Hyangchal and Gugyeol adapted Chinese characters to record Korean words and grammar. The original 28 letters were devised in 1443; Hunminjeongeum, the book that introduced and explained them, was published in 1446.
Hangul spread through everyday literature and private letters while Chinese characters remained official. It was adopted for official documents in 1894, and the name Hangeul became common in the early 1910s.
How do I type 퀏?
On standard Dubeolsik, press z, n, p, then t. These keys enter ㅋ, the two keystrokes for ㅞ, and final ㅅ in order. A Korean input method editor (IME), the keyboard software that composes Hangul, joins them as 퀏.
Fonts can change the size, shape and placement of the parts without changing the syllable. Some software stores 퀏 as one block; other software stores its Hangul parts separately and joins them on screen. Both represent the same character.
Someone sent me 퀏—what does it mean?
Read it in the Korean word around it. A lone 퀏 does not identify the word or sentence the sender intended; ask for the surrounding Korean text if context is missing.
Neutral as a written Korean syllable; its meaning depends on the word and sentence around it.
Do not guess the sender's intended word from 퀏 alone.

Questions people ask
1Why does 퀏 show as a box on some devices?
Because that device's fonts have no glyph for it. The character is still correct and still copies correctly — the box is a missing glyph, not a broken character.
