What 묶 means
It is a verb stem, not a dictionary entry. Korean verbs are listed with -다; endings like -어 and -으니 make sentence forms.
Because Chinese characters poorly fit Korean speech, Hangul was devised in 1443 so ordinary people could write Korean; consonants and vowels form its syllable blocks. The explanatory book Hunminjeongeum appeared in 1446. The oldest cited spelling of 묶다 is Middle Korean (an older form of Korean) 무ᇧ다〮, in Worin seokbo (1459), a Buddhist account of Buddha’s life. Hangul became official national writing in 1894 and lost that status under Japanese rule in 1910.
