What 늘 means
It means “always” or “all the time.”
늘 is an adverb, so it usually modifies the clause that follows. When that clause describes a recurring habit, “usually” or “often” may fit better than a strict “always.”
Hangul was devised in 1443 and introduced in 1446 with the Hunminjeongeum manuscript, a guide to its letters, to help people read Korean without needing prior knowledge of Chinese characters. Unicode can encode a Hangul syllable as one ready-made block or as a sequence of individual letters called jamo.
A plain adverb; the following clause sets the phrase’s tone.
Alone, 늘 leaves an unfinished “always”; the missing clause says what happens all the time.
