hangul syllable pegg

Hangul syllable Pegg

10139/11172

펚 is a Korean Hangul syllable block; “Pegg” is Unicode’s component-based label, not a translation of a Korean word. It combines initial consonant ᄑ, vowel ᅦ, and final consonant ᆩ. Hangul was devised in 1443 and introduced in the 1446 guide Hunminjeongeum as an easier way to write Korean than relying on Chinese characters. The name “Hangeul” appears in records from the 1910s.

Why does 펚 show as a box on some devices?

Because that device's fonts have no glyph for it. The character is still correct and still copies correctly — the box is a missing glyph, not a broken character.
