What 펬 means
It is one written syllable, built by placing consonants around a vowel.
In 펬, ㅍ is the opening consonant, ㅔ the vowel, and ㅆ the final consonant; all three belong to the same syllable. These component letters are called jamo, the letters used to build Korean syllables.
Hangeul’s creation is recorded in 1443; Hunminjeongeum, a book explaining the script and its letters, followed in 1446. The system was designed to let ordinary people write Korean speech in a learnable script rather than rely on Chinese characters. In South Korea the script is usually called 한글; in North Korea it is called 조선글.

Questions people ask
1Why does 펬 show as three jamo?
It has been split into its three component letters: 펬. Unicode treats that sequence as canonically equivalent to 펬, so text software can normalize either spelling to the other.
