Hangul syllable Put

To type 풑, use Korean input and enter its parts in Hangul order. The surrounding Korean word gives the syllable its meaning. 풑 is one assembled syllable block, not a separate sign with its own word meaning.

What 풑 means

Use a Korean IME and enter ㅍ, then ㅜ, then ㅌ. On the standard Korean two-set keyboard, called Dubeolsik, those keys are V, N, and X; the input method joins the parts as you type.

For software, the decomposed jamo sequence—letters that build Hangul syllables—is 풑. It can remain three jamo rather than the single precomposed block 풑, which matters when a program expects that exact one-character form.

What does 풑 mean by itself?

As of 2026-09-13, 풑 has no established standalone reaction meaning. It contributes a syllable inside a Korean word; if someone sends it alone, ask for context instead of reading it as slang.

Hangul’s earliest official record is in a 1443 entry in the Sejong Sillok, a royal chronicle. In 1446, Hunminjeongeum explained the script’s sounds, operating principles, and syllable structure; its practical aim was to make writing easier for ordinary people to learn. Hangul spread from Buddhist translations and learning books into public documents, newspapers, and mass-printed literature; in 1894 it became the official script of Korea’s national government. 풑 follows Hangul’s ordinary initial–vowel–final structure.

Inside a Korean word, 풑 is ordinary Hangul; alone, it looks like an isolated syllable.

If someone sends 풑 alone, ask what word or context they intended.

Why does 풑 show as a box on some devices?

Because that device's fonts have no glyph for it. The character is still correct and still copies correctly — the box is a missing glyph, not a broken character.
