What 퐓 means
It is Unicode’s part label, not a word’s translation.
퐓 combines ㅍ, ㅘ and final ㄼ.
How did Hangul’s role change?
Books spread it before it became official.
King Sejong introduced Hangul in 1443 to make Korean easier to write. Hunminjeongeum, a design guide, appeared in 1446. Early Hangul books included Buddhist texts, then Confucian and practical works. Hangul became Korea’s official writing system in 1894; under Japanese rule it lost that status in 1910, though scholars kept writing and studying it.
