What 론 means
It labels what the larger word is about. The Korean suffix -론 appears in 방법론 (“methodology”), 문학론 (“literary theory”), and 형태론 (“morphology”). In Korean, the Chinese character 論 is written 논 at a word’s beginning and 론 after another syllable. This is the initial-sound rule: some syllables are spelled differently at the start of a word. Hangul was devised in 1443 under King Sejong; the 1446 Hunminjeongeum guide described it as a more accessible way to write Korean.
Neutral inside a Korean word; the full word supplies the tone.
By itself, 론 does not tell you which theory or subject is meant.
