What ❚ means
Its clearest job is to separate text visually.
Dingbats are typographic ornaments used in print for borders, dividers, emphasis, or decoration; that tradition predates digital text. In a heading, bio, or caption, ❚ applies that visual language as a thick separator.
In code or structured text, use the delimiter the format expects. A decorative mark that resembles it may not work as syntax.
Decorative and typographic; it reads as layout, not a conversational reaction.
Do not substitute ❚ for the programming pipe just because they look alike.
