What ⾬ means
It is the lookup symbol for rain. A radical groups Chinese and Japanese characters in dictionaries; remaining strokes narrow the search.
The 18th-century Kangxi dictionary, a Chinese character reference, organized 214 such groups. Shang-era oracle-bone inscriptions—divination records carved on turtle shells and animal bones—show 雨 as drops below a sky or cloud; they use it for “rain” and “to rain.” Other records describe rites seeking rain.

1Why does ⾬ show as a box on some devices?
Not every system ships a font for the Kangxi Radicals block. Where none is installed, the character shows as an empty box; adding a font such as Noto fixes it. The character itself is still correct and copies correctly.
