What 𑼕 means
This consonant stands for “gha” and normally carries an unmarked “a.” In the transliteration “gha,” the g is voiced and released with extra breath; a vowel sign changes Kawi’s default a. The Kawi sign killer 𑽁 suppresses it, while the conjoiner 𑽂 before 𑼕 links gha to the preceding consonant in a stack.
Kawi grew from Pallava, an earlier writing system from southern India, rather than appearing all at once. The earliest known record of early Kawi is the Plumpungan stele, an inscribed stone, around 750 CE. From the 8th through the 16th centuries, it was used for land grants, royal orders, and other official records; later, its more calligraphic forms carried literature in Old Javanese, an earlier form of Javanese. Kawi also wrote Sanskrit, Old Malay, Old Balinese, and Old Sundanese. Its later regional forms gave rise to scripts such as Javanese and Balinese. In the 21st century, interest renewed, including some social-media use to write modern Javanese and Indonesian.
Why does Kawi gha look different in fonts?
Kawi letterforms vary across time and region. The reference typeface in Unicode Standard 18.0 draws mainly on early inscriptions, adapting some later forms, so another font can shape 𑼕 differently without changing the letter.
A missing-glyph box may mean your font or text-shaping system lacks Kawi support; it is a display failure, not another spelling.

Questions people ask
1Why does 𑼕 show as a box on some devices?
Because that device's fonts have no glyph for it. The character is still correct and still copies correctly — the box is a missing glyph, not a broken character.
