What 𘱤 means
Its Unicode name identifies the character; it does not translate it.
Khitan small script pairs logograms (signs for whole words) with phonograms (signs for sounds). Phonograms combine in clusters that represent words; logograms can stand alone. As of 2026, the script remains only partly deciphered.
Khitan small and large scripts are distinct systems for writing the same language. The small script’s forms drew on Chinese characters, while its sound system was reportedly influenced by Uyghur writing. The Jurchens, founders of the Jin dynasty, modeled their scripts on Khitan writing. Surviving examples include tomb inscriptions honoring Khitan royalty and nobles, alongside inscriptions on monuments, mirrors, tallies and coins.

1Why does 𘱤 show as a box on some devices?
Because that device's fonts have no glyph for it. The character is still correct and still copies correctly — the box is a missing glyph, not a broken character.
