What 𘲞 means
It is the written sign for two in Khitan.
𘲝 is the undotted partner. Scholars think the dot may mark the masculine form of the number; this is a grammar distinction, not a label for a man. Dots can serve other purposes too.
When was Khitan Small Script created?
Traditional accounts date its creation to about 925.
Khitan was spoken by a people who ruled the Liao dynasty in northern China; the small script was made to write it. It appears in records, letters, monuments, and memorials. Its forms drew on Chinese characters, while ideas for representing sounds came from Uyghur writing. In the Jin dynasty, Jurchen writers adapted Khitan models. Tradition credits Yelü Diela with devising it about 925, but a 2026 study argues for later systematization: the oldest securely dated surviving text is a 1051 memorial inscription.

1Why does 𘲞 show as a box on some devices?
Because that device's fonts have no glyph for it. The character is still correct and still copies correctly — the box is a missing glyph, not a broken character.
