What 𘳏 means
Its label identifies the sign, not its reading. Phonograms (signs for sounds) join in groups of two to eight; logograms (signs for whole words) can stand alone.
Columns read top to bottom, from right to left; signs within word groups read left to right, then top to bottom.
How did Khitan Small Script develop?
It was an official script with memorial uses. Created around 925 by Yelü Diela to write Khitan, the script drew on Chinese characters and Uyghur sound writing. Its earliest dated surviving inscription is a tomb epitaph from 1053.
Khitan scripts served under Liao and Jin rule until a Jin edict abolished them in 1191; Jurchen writing later drew on Khitan models.

Questions people ask
1Why does 𘳏 show as a box on some devices?
It is recent: Unicode added it in version 13.0 (2020), and phones and computers whose fonts are older than that have nothing to draw it with. The character itself is still correct and copies correctly.
