What 𑋔 means

It is a Khudawadi consonant letter used to write Sindhi.

Khudawadi, also called Khudabadi, developed among Sindhis in Khudabad in the seventeenth century. It grew from Landa, a family of writing systems used for letters and merchants’ accounts. Traders valued Khudawadi partly because outsiders could not easily read their records.

Khudawadi is historically related to Sharada and belongs to the Landa writing tradition, as do Khojki and Gurmukhi. That is a script-history connection; a similar-looking letter in another script is not automatically the same character.

How did Khudawadi become a Sindhi writing system?

It moved from private and commercial use into public life. In the 1860s, Khudawadi was selected as a written standard for Sindhi education and administration, and appeared in books and court records.

An Arabic-based script became official for Sindhi in the late 19th century; Khudawadi declined further after Partition. As of 2020, an endangered-scripts account described a small Sindhi community in Hyderabad, India, keeping it alive.

Khudawadi left more than business records: the printed record includes lithographed books (made by printing from stone), metal type, a literary journal, Bible translations, and an inscription at a shrine.

What does 𑋔 mean when sent alone?

Usually, it is a character sample, not a reaction. One consonant does not identify a word; ask what text it belongs to.

Heritage, archive, or script-study tone; alone in chat, it reads as a character sample.

A lone letter cannot tell you which word was intended.
