What ᰳ means
It closes a syllable with t.
A coda is a syllable’s ending. ᰳ follows the base letter and vowel, with any middle consonant signs in between. At a syllable’s end, t has no release burst and is cut off with a brief closure in the throat.
Who devised the Lepcha script?
Traditions credit different creators.
The Róng script adapts rotated Tibetan forms to write Lepcha. Its development is placed in the early eighteenth century; accounts credit Sikkim’s king Chador Namgyal, Lepcha scholar Thikúng Mensalóng, or Buddhist teacher Lama Lhatsun Chenpo. Lepcha manuscripts include literary and religious works; an eyewitness account of a killing in 1826 was filed 14 April 1828.

1Why does ᰳ show as a box on some devices?
