What ᰊ means
It writes t at the start of a syllable. The Lepcha letter ta carries a built-in vowel; the separate sign ᰳ marks t at a syllable’s end.
The Lepcha script, also called Róng, adapts Tibetan letter forms for left-to-right writing and adds signs for final consonants. Its development is placed in the early eighteenth century; the oldest identified handwritten Lepcha materials date from the second half of the nineteenth century.
Lazóng is a traditional way to teach Lepcha letters through recitation. Manuscripts contain prayers, legends, astrology, and stories that blend Tibetan Buddhist material with Indigenous belief.

Questions people ask
1Why does ᰊ show as a box on some devices?
Not every system ships a font for the Lepcha block. Where none is installed, the character shows as an empty box; adding a font such as Noto fixes it. The character itself is still correct and copies correctly.
