What 𝐕 means

In physics and applied math, bold often marks vectors; identify capital 𝐕 from its formula or the author's definition.
Pre-digital mathematical typesetting used bold upright letters for vectors and matrices in some traditions. Unicode's math alphabets carry those distinctions into plain-text formulas. NFKC can fold 𝐕 to V and erase the distinction.

Because that device's fonts have no glyph for it. The character is still correct and still copies correctly — the box is a missing glyph, not a broken character.
