What 𝙰 means
In HTML, use 𝙰. This hexadecimal character reference tells a browser to produce 𝙰.
In JavaScript, String.fromCodePoint(0x1D670) makes a string containing it. A regular A key enters the ordinary Latin A instead.
What does 𝙰 mean?
It is the monospace A in a mathematical alphabet. Its separate form can mark a different variable from ordinary A; the formula or technical convention assigns each its meaning.
In 1999, mathematicians and technical publishers proposed encoding established alphabet variants—including a monospace set of Latin letters and digits—for digital plain-text publishing. The goal was to preserve distinctions between mathematical symbols; flattening their styles could change an expression. This is a computer notation form of Latin A, not a separate historical letter.
Will it match and look like plain A?
Not in every text operation or font. NFKC and NFKD normalization fold 𝙰 to ordinary A, while NFC preserves the distinction. Normalization standardizes text; compatibility forms can remove a mathematical distinction.
The character selects a mathematical monospace style but does not prescribe one font. Different fonts can draw it differently, so its exact outline may vary between apps.
A specialized math and technical character; in ordinary prose, it reads as typewriter-like styling.
Avoid swapping it into ordinary words: exact searches and text processing may treat it differently from A.

1Questions people ask
1Why does 𝙰 show as a box on some devices?
Because that device's fonts have no glyph for it. The character is still correct and still copies correctly — the box is a missing glyph, not a broken character.
