What 𖺀 means
It marks a vacant place in a base-20 numeral.
Medefaidrin uses twenty digits, 0–19. In 𖺁𖺀, 𖺁 marks one group of twenty, while 𖺀 shows there are no extra units.
Where did the Medefaidrin zero come from?
It belongs to a script made for a Christian community’s language.
The language and script emerged around 1927 in the Obɛri Ɔkaimɛ (“Church freely given”) Christian community in southeastern Nigeria; members spoke Ibibio. The language served worship and community duties, then also schools and some everyday use. English-style uppercase and lowercase letters shaped the script; its numerals use a base-20 system of their own. A numeral chart appears in a 1947 account.

Questions people ask
1Why does 𖺀 show as a box on some devices?
Because that device's fonts have no glyph for it. The character is still correct and still copies correctly — the box is a missing glyph, not a broken character.
