What 𖩌 means
Use a layout that supports the Mro script.
Typing support and display support are separate: a font without Mro coverage may show a box or question mark even when the text contains the right character.
Mro runs left to right and uses no combining marks; 𖩌 is a letter in its own right, not a base assembled with an accent.
What does 𖩌 mean in Mro?
It is the Mro letter for the k sound, used inside words. The alphabet writes vowels as separate letters. For example, 𖩌𖩑𖩗 means “village,” and 𖩄𖩑𖩁𖩌𖩑 means “owl”; 𖩌 sits inside the second word.
Menley Mro developed the script in the 1980s alongside the Krama religious movement. It gave Mro speakers a writing system of their own; early poems and songs used it, and community teaching spread it through villages.
By 2026, Mro writing appeared in books, on smartphones, and on social media in Bangladesh and Myanmar.
In Mro, this is an ordinary alphabet letter whose k sound is written inside words.
A shared k sound does not make 𖩙 an interchangeable spelling.
