What 𛉟 means
It records a Jiangyong syllable; context supplies the word.
The Unicode Nüshu list gives it the local Jiangyong pronunciation spelling mai33 and pairs it with several Chinese characters. Nüshu’s forms draw on Chinese characters, but the writing system records syllables of local speech; it is not ordinary Chinese text.
Women around Jiangyong used Nüshu to record local speech in songs, letters, wedding gifts and embroidery. Its earliest known surviving artifact is a bronze coin from the Taiping Heavenly Kingdom (1851–64), bearing an inscription that describes women as one family of sisters. The coin documents use by then, not when the script began. UNESCO reported public revival work in 2018.

Questions people ask
1Why does 𛉟 show as a box on some devices?
Not every system ships a font for the Nushu block. Where none is installed, the character shows as an empty box; adding a font such as Noto fixes it. The character itself is still correct and copies correctly.
