What 𛊯 means

A syllable; context supplies the word.

Nüshu adapts Chinese character forms to write local speech. Most signs record syllables; one may cover several words that sound alike, so the sentence picks the word.

In Jiangyong, women wrote songs, biographies, and letters to close friends. A Nüshu bridal letter called sanzhaoshu ('third-day letter') was a traditional gift from a bride's friends three days after her wedding. The earliest known Nüshu artifact is an inscription on a coin from the Taiping Heavenly Kingdom, a Chinese rebel state (1851–1864). By 2024, local classes, museums, and performances also presented the script as public heritage.

Why does 𛊯 show as a box on some devices?

Because that device's fonts have no glyph for it. The character is still correct and still copies correctly — the box is a missing glyph, not a broken character.
