What 𐒣 means
It is the number three. In an Osmanya number it contributes 3; alone, read three.
Cismaan Yuusuf Keenadiid devised Osmanya in 1920–1922 to write Somali. Far Soomaali, a Somali name for the script, means “Somali writing”; earlier, the religious leader Sheikh Uweys tried an Arabic-based spelling of Somali.
After World War II, nationalist debate focused on how Somali should be written. Somalia adopted Osmanya and Latin for use in 1961; Latin became official in 1973. During 1961–1973, Osmanya appeared in letters, accounts, books and the fortnightly journal Horseed (“Vanguard”). Borama and Kaddare are separate Somali scripts.

1Why does 𐒣 show as a box on some devices?
Because that device's fonts have no glyph for it. The character is still correct and still copies correctly — the box is a missing glyph, not a broken character.
