What 𐹣 means
It numbered book leaves, chapters, and bundles of pages.
Rumi numerals, also called Fasi numerals, grew from Coptic or Greek-Coptic number traditions. Coptic is a historical Egyptian language written with a Greek-based alphabet. The system was decimal but non-positional: tens and hundreds had separate signs, and added marks indicated thousands. Arabic-Indic numerals and Ottoman Siyaq are separate systems.
Rumi shapes changed over time; the reference form follows a manuscript tradition associated with Ibn al-Banna (1256–1321). A Unicode proposal in 2006 described the system as rare and no longer in current use.
