What 𑖭 means

It writes the Sanskrit syllable sa: s plus a short a.

Siddham is a Brahmi-derived script used to write Sanskrit. Its older name, Siddhamātrikā, appears in North Indian inscriptions from the 6th century. From the 8th century, regional forms developed into Śāradā in Kashmir and Punjab and Proto-Bengali (Gauḍī, an early eastern script); Nāgarī developed in other parts of North India from the 10th century.

Siddham spells syllables: a consonant starts with an unstated short a; a vowel sign changes that vowel, and a virama removes it. Buddhist scholars in China used Siddham to study and transcribe Sanskrit sounds, and Buddhist manuscripts in China, Japan and Korea used it. In Japan, it became especially associated with Shingon and Tendai Buddhist ritual and calligraphy; a letter in ritual art can also carry a symbolic or deity-associated role.

What does 𑖭 mean when someone sends it?

Alone, it is a script character, not a universal chat reaction.

Bonji is the Japanese term for Siddham characters used in Buddhist practice. A lone 𑖭 may be a character sample or a fragment of Sanskrit or bonji text; it does not by itself identify a prayer, deity or emotion.

As of 2026, Siddham is used mainly for ceremony and ritual in esoteric Buddhism, especially in Japan's Shingon and Tendai traditions. Outside that setting, add a short explanation.

How can I type 𑖭?

Use Unicode-aware input if your keyboard has no Siddham layout.

This character is outside the Basic Multilingual Plane, so software must handle it as a full Unicode character. The Unicode chart uses Japanese Siddham forms as its representatives; fonts may draw the same character differently, and a font without Siddham support may show a box.

Specialist or devotional: it points to Siddham, Sanskrit writing, or a Buddhist ritual setting.

Alone, it is not a ready-made blessing; the message or ritual supplies that meaning.
