What 𑃣 means
It writes the Sora vowel e, like the e in Spanish mesa. The Sora Sompeng eeh is a full vowel letter: it can follow a consonant or stand by itself when no consonant starts the syllable.
In one Sora religious naming tradition, the e vowel is called eʔe and linked with Elda. That gives the vowel a religious association; in a written word, 𑃣 still marks the same sound.
Why was Sora Sompeng created?
To give Sora a script of its own. Mangei Gomango is credited with devising Sora Sompeng in 1936; a Sora religious account places the vision that inspired it on 18 June 1936.
It offered an alternative to the Latin-based notation missionaries and linguists used to record Sora, and to Telugu and Odia scripts used around Sora communities. In the Matar Banom (also spelled Matharvanam) movement, a Sora religious movement, letters are treated as spirit-letters. The script also appears in printed religious material, education, and literature. Odisha accounts use sonum sompeng for the tradition; Andhra accounts also record nyonan-lipi.
Sorang Sompeng belongs to a group of separate 20th-century script projects for Munda languages, alongside Ol Chiki for Santali, Warang Citi for Ho, and Bani Hisir for Mundari.
How do I type 𑃣?
Use a Sora keyboard and a font that supports the script. Keyman's Sora keyboard help names Nirmala UI on Windows as a supporting font. If 𑃣 appears as a square box, the app's available font lacks its glyph. Unicode's reference chart says its sample outline is not prescriptive, so supporting fonts can draw the letter differently.
The eeh is typed as a full character; it can stand alone or follow a consonant. Sora Sompeng has no combining marks, so no special keystroke is needed to reposition the vowel around a consonant.
Neutral in ordinary Sora spelling; the script also carries religious significance in Sora traditions.
A square box means font support is missing; supporting fonts may draw the outline differently.

Questions people ask
1Why does 𑃣 show as a box on some devices?
Because that device's fonts have no glyph for it. The character is still correct and still copies correctly — the box is a missing glyph, not a broken character.
