What 𖪙 means
It moves from /ɯ/ to /u/ in tone 3. Tangsa writes each vowel-and-tone pairing as one letter; the final c in Uiuc marks tone 3.
A diphthong is a one-syllable vowel glide: /ɯu/ starts with /ɯ/, an “oo”-like sound made without rounding the lips, then moves to /u/ (“oo”). In Muishvung, tone 3 is mid-high level or rising; in Rera (Ronrang), another Tangsa variety, it is low.
Lakhum Mossang created the script in 1990 to write Muishvung, his Tangsa variety. Until around 2012, it was handwritten by Mossang and a small student group; a Tangsa committee began public promotion in 2020.

Questions people ask
1Why does 𖪙 show as a box on some devices?
Because that device's fonts have no glyph for it. The character is still correct and still copies correctly — the box is a missing glyph, not a broken character.
