What 𘡢 means
It is a component, not a whole character with a fixed reading.
In Tangut writing, a component may hint at meaning or sound; its sound depends on the complete character that contains it.
Tangut writing was developed around 1036 for the language of Western Xia, a state. By the mid-12th century, a work called the Sea of Characters analyzed characters through their parts. In a 2018 Unicode proposal, 𘡢 maps to entry 46 in a component list printed from carved woodblocks. This is an older catalog entry, not an earlier name. Tangut writing drew on Chinese writing, but this component is not a Chinese character and has no Chinese reading.
Scholarly label; its reading belongs to the complete Tangut character.
Do not assign it a sound without its full character.

Questions people ask
1Why does 𘡢 show as a box on some devices?
Not every system ships a font for the Tangut Components block. Where none is installed, the character shows as an empty box; adding a font such as Noto fixes it. The character itself is still correct and copies correctly.
