What 𘦵 means
It helps describe and locate Tangut characters.
Modern Tangut dictionaries use components to index characters and describe their structure; 438 is a catalog label, not a reading or translation. Its appearance depends on Tangut font support.
Western Xia, a kingdom in northwestern China, introduced Tangut writing in 1036; emperor Li Yuanhao tasked official Yeli Renrong with developing it for government and Buddhist texts. The script outlasted the kingdom; a Buddhist inscription dated 1502 is its latest known example. Its square forms show Chinese influence, but Tangut is a distinct script from Chinese and Khitan.

1Why does 𘦵 show as a box on some devices?
Because that device's fonts have no glyph for it. The character is still correct and still copies correctly — the box is a missing glyph, not a broken character.
