What 𘪺 means
No; 𘪺 is a structural component, not a word. Scholars use Tangut components to describe characters and find them in dictionaries; many serve as lookup radicals, the headings that group entries. The number is a catalog label, not a translation or reading.
The Tangut (Xixia) script was created around 1036 under Western Xia’s first emperor for government and Buddhist texts, as the state forged an identity alongside Song China. It drew on Chinese strokes and character-building methods but remained separate; neighboring Khitan people had developed scripts earlier. A Khara-khoto manuscript dated to the 12th century shows Tangut in use then, not when this component first appeared.

Fonts without Tangut coverage may show 𘪺 as a box or poor outline; check it in a Tangut-capable font.

Questions people ask
1Why does 𘪺 show as a box on some devices?
Not every system ships a font for the Tangut Components block. Where none is installed, the character shows as an empty box; adding a font such as Noto fixes it. The character itself is still correct and copies correctly.
