What 𘫍 means
It is a Tangut component, not a standalone word. 𘫍 is a structural part used to describe larger Tangut ideographs. In dictionaries, components let scholars index characters by radical and stroke; components can also appear in Ideographic Description Sequences (IDS), a notation that shows how a character is built. It is an indexing and building-block sign, not a translated word.
𘫍 did not originate as a digital symbol. A 2008 encoding proposal calls it TANGUT RADICAL R0718; that label gives its place in a component system, not a pronunciation. The Unicode Tangut repertoire draws on dictionaries and publications, bringing a scholarly indexing system for an older script into digital text. Component systems differ, and a component's role depends on the larger ideograph and the indexing tradition.
Technical and specialist: it fits Tangut scholarship, dictionary indexing, and font or input testing; a complete ideograph carries the reading in ordinary text.
On its own, 𘫍 does not supply a word reading; use the complete Tangut ideograph when you mean a word.

Questions people ask
1Why does 𘫍 show as a box?
The font cannot display the character. A font with Tangut coverage is needed; the box is a missing-glyph mark, not another reading for 𘫍.
