What 𗀥 means
In Tangut, 𗀥 is the word for “egg.”
Emperor Jingzong of Western Xia decreed the creation of Tangut writing for official and cultural work. Western Xia lasted 1038–1227. Surviving material includes manuscripts and Buddhist texts, including works from the late twelfth century and the thirteenth century, as well as later texts.
Tangut writing borrowed structural ideas from Chinese characters, but the two are different writing systems. If 𗀥 appears as an empty box, the font or app cannot display Tangut.
Historical writing; outside Tangut texts, it points to the language and its script.
It is Tangut writing, not an egg emoji; “egg” is the character’s word meaning.

Questions people ask
1Why does 𗀥 show as a box on some devices?
Because that device's fonts have no glyph for it. The character is still correct and still copies correctly — the box is a missing glyph, not a broken character.
