What 𗆈 means
Its English meaning remains unsettled. Scholars' notation gji² gives a reconstructed reading—an estimate of the sound, not a translation.
Created by imperial order in 1036 for official and cultural work in Western Xia, the Tangut script is recorded in use from 1036 to 1502. Tangut left daily use after the Mongol conquest in the 13th century; scholars later recovered the script through Tangut–Chinese glossaries, bilingual word lists. Tangut font coverage is incomplete in some fonts, so a blank box in place of 𗆈 may mean that font lacks the character.
Historical and specialist; outside Tangut study, this is an unexplained historical-script character.
A Chinese-like shape is not enough to translate it.

Questions people ask
1Why does 𗆈 show as a box on some devices?
Not every system ships a font for the Tangut block. Where none is installed, the character shows as an empty box; adding a font such as Noto fixes it. The character itself is still correct and copies correctly.
