What 𗆳 means
A dictionary renders this Tangut word as “calm.”
Emperor Li Yuanhao ordered the script around 1036 to strengthen his state and mark political distance from China’s Song dynasty. Tangut texts included Buddhist scripture and secular translations. Its forms drew on Khitan and Chinese visual models, but Tangut did not derive from Chinese. A surviving manuscript from the Khara-khoto site probably dates to the 12th or early 13th century.
