What 𗒅 means
Li Fanwen's dictionary records it as a surname.
The dictionary lists 𗒅 as entry 4867 with the gloss a surname. That is a recorded Tangut word use, not a general-purpose sign.
Tangut was the language of the Western Xia state. Its script was developed around 1036 to record the language and support state institutions. It appears in official, private, and religious texts, including Buddhist books, inscriptions, and manuscripts. A text dated 1070–1071 is sometimes identified as the earliest known dated example of Tangut writing.
How do I type 𗒅?
Use hexadecimal Unicode entry or a Tangut lookup tool.
Enter hexadecimal 17485 in a Unicode-aware input tool. A Tangut lookup tool or IME (a script-specific input method) can find dictionary entry 4867.
Font support determines whether the character is visible. Tangut fonts may also draw different historical outlines for the same encoded character.
What does 𗒅 mean when someone sends it?
Usually a Tangut-script reference or a display test. A lone 𗒅 is best read as an example from a historical text, a dictionary lookup, or a typography test; the sender's context can narrow it down.
After Western Xia fell, Tangut continued in Yuan and Ming contexts before leaving everyday use. In digital text, the script appears mainly in archival material, scholarship, and typography.
Historical and specialist; the dictionary gloss alone cannot tell you what a sender intends by a lone graph.
