Tangut Character 1752E

1327/6136

𗔮 is a character in the Xixia script, also called Tangut, established around 1036 to write the Tangut language. Its block-like forms were modeled on Chinese characters and the script used by the Khitan people. Tangut writing served Western Xia government, Buddhist and legal texts, then continued after the state fell. Read it as Tangut text, not a picture or emoji.

Questions people ask

1

Why does 𗔮 show as a box on some devices?

Not every system ships a font for the Tangut block. Where none is installed, the character shows as an empty box; adding a font such as Noto fixes it. The character itself is still correct and copies correctly.
