𗕹 is a Tangut character; its Unicode name is a label, not a translation. Tangut, also called Xixia, is the script for the Tangut language.

Text symbol

What 𗕹 means

The label identifies the glyph but gives no reading. The Tangut script began under Western Xia’s first emperor around 1036.

After 1227, it remained in use under Yuan and Ming rule, becoming obsolete by the end of the Ming dynasty. Tangut is preserved in official, private and religious texts. Nikolai Nevsky helped decipher it in the early 20th century after its rediscovery in the late 19th century.

Historical and scholarly.

Its Chinese-like shape does not make it Chinese; Tangut is a separate, unrelated script.

1

Why does 𗕹 show as a box on some devices?

Because that device's fonts have no glyph for it. The character is still correct and still copies correctly — the box is a missing glyph, not a broken character.
