What 𗘙 means
In Tangut, 𗘙 means “scorpion.”
Tangut writing was introduced in 1036 for Western Xia state-building, official records, and Buddhist translation, following the example of the earlier Khitan script. Its square forms drew on Chinese writing, but Tangut was a separate script. Manuscripts from Khara-khoto dating to the 12th or early 13th century preserve Chinese works translated into Tangut. The date 1036 belongs to the script, not to this individual character.
