What 𗙴 means
The reading is *rar¹; its English gloss is uncertain. The Tangut reading rar1 is a scholarly transcription of its reconstructed sound, not an English translation. Western Xia household records and contracts place it in personal names, including 𗩋𗙴, transcribed in Latin letters as [mə rar].
Tangut writing was created around 1036 for the Western Xia state, for administration, culture, and religion. Its square, built-up forms resemble Chinese writing, but it is a separate script for the Tangut language. To display 𗙴 when it appears blank, use a font with Tangut coverage; fonts may choose different documented glyph shapes.
Historical and specialist; it signals Tangut writing or Western Xia research.

Questions people ask
1Why does 𗙴 look like Chinese?
Tangut writing uses a similarly dense, built-up visual structure. It is a separate script for a different language, so resemblance alone does not give 𗙴 a Chinese reading.
