What 𗚗 means
“Neck,” including a plough’s neck.
The Li Fanwen Tangut dictionary reconstructs its reading as gju and glosses 𗚗 as “neck” or “plough neck”; context decides which sense fits.
Tangut script was created around 1036 for Western Xia records and translations. An official document from 1072 is the earliest transmitted example identified by modern scholarship. A 1502 inscription shows use after the dynasty fell. Its square forms resemble Chinese writing, but the script is distinct.
Outside a Tangut passage, give it the gloss “neck.”
A box is font fallback: the selected font lacks Tangut coverage.

Questions people ask
1Why does 𗚗 show as a box on some devices?
Because that device's fonts have no glyph for it. The character is still correct and still copies correctly — the box is a missing glyph, not a broken character.
