What 𗚘 means
A Tangut–Chinese dictionary glosses this entry as “three.”
In specialist reconstructions, the Tangut reading appears as gju [giu]; this is scholarly transcription, not an everyday pronunciation cue.
Western Xia, a Tangut-led kingdom in what is now northwestern China, promulgated the Tangut script in 1036. Its square design took cues from Chinese writing, but Tangut is a separate script. The writing persisted after the kingdom fell; a Tangut text pillar in Baoding, in present-day Hebei, is dated 1502.
