What 𗚲 means
It is a Tangut word glossed as “bolt.” The dictionary gloss is a word in the Tangut language, not a general-purpose sign for tools or hardware.
The medieval Western Xia kingdom used Tangut as its language. Its script was developed as a state project and standardized around 1036 for government, schools, and Buddhist translations; it drew on Chinese writing and the Khitan script, used by another medieval people in northeast Asia. Tangut religious texts continued to be written after the kingdom fell in 1227.
Why does 𗚲 show as a box?
Your font may not include Tangut characters. A box is a display fallback; the encoded character remains 𗚲.
Historical and specialist; it belongs in discussion of Tangut texts.
As of 2026, an isolated 𗚲 has no standard chat reading; ask the sender what they mean.
