What 𗠝 means
It marks a sound in a Tangut transcription of a Buddhist text.
The clearest documented example places 𗠝 in a Sanskrit dhāraṇī, a Buddhist sacred formula. A reader who does not know Tangut cannot tell its sound from the isolated glyph; specialists identify its role from the surrounding text and Tangut references.
Western Xia rulers commissioned Tangut writing around 1036 for government, and Buddhist and Chinese works were translated into it. After the state fell in 1227, Tangut continued in religious texts; the latest known example is dated 1502.
Historical and specialist: it points to Tangut study and Buddhist textual history.
Without its source text, the glyph alone does not identify the sound it transcribes.

Questions people ask
1Why does 𗠝 show as a box on some devices?
Because that device's fonts have no glyph for it. The character is still correct and still copies correctly — the box is a missing glyph, not a broken character.
